The origins
It was the era of the romantic Grand Tour, of long journeys and of the Great Travellers when Cavalier Ugo Catenazzi entered the career of "Grand Maitre d'Hotel" working at the Grand Hotel Royal in Courmayeur and Sanremo, already unmissable destinations, favorite stops for the elite tourism that was developing at the time: a wealthy, cultured and international type of tourism.
Born into a noble family in Maccagno on Lake Maggiore, he pursued a long professional career, traveling the world and theorizing about all the experiences that led him, still young, to the position of Maitre at the Grand Hotel La Pace in Montecatini Terme. In addition to his technical skills, Cavalier Ugo Catenazzi possessed the rare gift of compassion for others and his employees, who reciprocated with devotion and affectionate obedience.
He crowned his long efforts by realizing the dream of all worthy managers by becoming one of the owners of the Hotel Plaza & Locanda Maggiore in Montecatini Terme, which was later sold in the 1960s.
His nephew Francesco Maria Abellonio, together with Treviso native Luca Casellato, continued this tradition by opening and renovating the boutique Hotel Palazzina300 in the heart of Treviso. This charming boutique hotel is located in a 15th-century building with rooms and suites overlooking Piazza dei Signori.
